Changes and a Wedding!

Hi everyone!  I've been feeling guilty lately about how horribly neglected this blog has been!  I thought now would be a good time to pop back in and share some of the changes going on.  After almost completing my first official season as a business...I've learned lots of things.  Many of those things have been lightbulb moments of "oh..I should do this differently", or "this just doesn't seem to be working".  So, I've spent the last couple of weeks begining some improvements, and gearing up for the New Year 2011!  I started with a new website http://www.familyblessingsphotography.com/.  It's still in the works somewhat, but I've made a lot of progress on it.  I'm also working on sprucing up this blog a tad too..so bear with me if you see things change over the course of the next couple of months.

One thing I did a couple months ago that was new for me..I photographed a wedding!!  It was a very small ordeal..but nerve wracking none the less.  I have to admit though...I thoroughly enjoyed it!!  I'm still not ready to jump into wedding photography with both feet or anything, but I sure would be open to a very small wedding here or there!  I'll leave you for today with a few of my favorite images from my very little, but very fun wedding adventure!  This was a great couple, and very fun to work with!

I Heart Faces- "Celebrating Mom"

This weeks theme for I Heart Faces is celebrating mom.  This is a picture I took from a recent photoshoot that I thought of right away when I saw what the theme was this week.  A mom and a daughter snuggling close.  It's also a wonderful reminder that being a mom isn't about giving birth, but giving yourself.  Being a mom goes so much deeper than just giving birth to babies, but giving yourself to a baby, and a child as they grow.  It's about the sacrifices that you make every day to ensure the safety and wellbeing of a child.  It's about giving of yourself to show this child that they are special to God, and that they are special to you.  Being a mom gives us the opportunities to share God and life with another human being in the hopes that the special bond between us will lead them to be an adult who follows after the dreams that God has given them!  What an awesome and special responsibility!

Go on over to I Heart Faces to see more special mom pictures!
